New Five BlackBerry 7 OS Smartphones Will Be Available Soon!

New BlackBerry Torch 9860

Research in Motion has announced plans to launch five more smartphones under the BlackBerry name and each of them will be running the BlackBerry 7 operating system. RIM will be partnering up with carriers and distributors across the world to bring two new models of the BlackBerry Bold and three more models of the BlackBerry Torch. RIM is looking to gain global market share with the largest launch of BlackBerry handsets ever.

The BlackBerry Bold models will include the Blackberry Bold 9900 and 9930 being released very thin (at 10.5 mm) with larger keyboard, enhanced displays and build-in support for Near Field Communication, or NFC. The other three models of the BlackBerry Torch include the 9810,  9850 and 9860. The BlackBerry Torch 9810 comes with the 3.2” display with the resolution of 640 x 480 pixels (VGA). The other two models Torch 9850 / 9860 are coming with the largest displays of any BlackBerry phones (3.7”, 800 x 480 pixels) and enhanced touch screen experience.

The BlackBerry Bold 9930 and BlackBerry Torch 9850 will be available in Spring stores on August, 21 2011. The Bold 9930 will cost $249.99 on a 2-year contract and the Torch 9850 will cost $149.99 (see the terms at Sprint website).

Initially in the press release Bold and Torch phones were announced as first BlackBerry 4G phones, but then the prefix “4G” was removed. We’d remind you that the first new real 4g phone from RIM is been broadly discussed by the codename BlackBerry Triton 4G which was supposed to be released for the first time in December 2010, then in June 2011, and now the rumoured new BlackBerry Triton release date was moved to the end of 2011 or even the year of 2012. But can the BlackBerry Triton 4G be one of these new Bold phones? Or will it have other, more advanced technologies than the Torch and Bold phones have? Now we see the growing tendency of improving technologies by RIM and this can be another important step to the release of the real BlackBerry 4G phone.

The new BlackBerry 7 OS has been mentioned a couple of times in recent times and the fresh operating system should bring new life to the BlackBerry line of handsets. Along with the new BlackBerry 7 OS comes a new BlackBerry browser that is faster and more fluid by bringing together the WebKit browser engine and hardware packed in the new BlackBerry smartphones. Results of tests show the browser to be about 40 percent faster than phones running the BlackBerry 6 OS. Included in the OS is the HTML5 standard for better gaming and video streaming, optimized zooming and panning brings a smooth navigation experience to the new BlackBerry phones. A host of preloaded applications on the BlackBerry 7 phones increase functionality and productivity experiences including the Documents to Go Premium version for free.

There will also be specific enhancements to the BlackBerry Messenger, Social Feeds 2.0 and Facebook for BlackBerry app. Keeping users connected throughout the day in more ways than one seems to be the goal here and with the integrated suite of email, phone, messaging and the social apps users will be productive as well. Other included apps are BlackBerry Protect for keeping user information secure, BlackBerry Balance which helps users balance between work and personal life on the smartphone without extra strain on your company’s IT department.

The availability of the new BlackBerry smartphones is set to be released later this month to more carriers around the world. RIM partners will be announcing release dates and other information as they see fit and as those dates get closer.

Some of the features are not going to put BlackBerry on the top of the list as other companies launch phones with larger screens, better hardware and software, but since RIM has not announced a release for some time, it could help them boost their dropping market share.  With the new OS, NFC supported smartphones and partners worldwide, RIM is aiming in the right direction for more global market share for their productivity based handsets.

Perspectives of 4G Coverage – Who’s the Winner?

There is severe competition among the 4G network providers. Each provider claims that it is the one that is offering the best 4G services. For consumers, it really becomes difficult to pinpoint the 4G carrier that is the best among all as nothing is clear at this moment.

Here we combined some information of different 4G Wireless Technology providers:

  • Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network was launched in December, this provider claims its 4G network service is available to almost 110 million people as it provides its services in 38 markets and over 60 major airports, covering approximately. The provider advertises 4G services with the claim of offering 12 Mbps download speed. Verizon Wireless has a plan to expand its 4G LTE in more markets and areas by the end of 2013. It is also reported that Verizon 4G LTE network will also be available in some rural areas as the company also focus on these areas.
  • T-Mobile USA launched a 4G HSPA+ network service last year. Company also made an announcement about its plan of launching HSPA+ 42 network technology that will surface possibly this year. This technology is sophisticated enough thereby will support theoretical peak speeds of 42 Mbps.
  • AT&T mobility also named its HSPA+ network as 4G technology just when the T-Mobile made the same claim about its own HSPA+ network. We do not have enough relevant information about the speed offered by AT&T 4G network.
  • Sprint 4G coverage is expanding speedily, the company is claiming to offer services to almost 40 million. The average download speed offered is 4G 3 – 6 Mbps while the peak download speed is more than 10 Mbps. A person is able to enjoy fast speed browsing, live video streaming, chating etc with the mean of this service.

With the emergence of 4G technology, mobile manufacturing companies are start introducing 4G handsets some of which are released while other will be rolled out soon in the market. We also heard some rumors that RIM (Research In Motion) has a plan to launch BlackBerry 4G Triton for the 4G technology lovers. This will surely be the first 4G device from the house of RIM, if launches. Although some information about this smartphone has emerges on the Internet yet it is not clear which 4G network provider will be selected by RIM. The company might launch two models of BlackBerry Triton 4G i.e. CDMA and GSM; that means it might be compatible with all US carriers networks. RIM has not selected a 4G network carrier for this device as 4G BlackBerry Triton is not made official by the company. Therefore, different people are speculating different carrier as the partner for RIM.

It is possible RIM may choose Sprint as its 4G carrier network as Sprint has an established 4G network while other carriers are making some efforts in this regard. It is just a speculation and nothing is certain at this moment.

How Competitive is the Position of BlackBerry on the Cell Phone Market?

Today it is not easy to find out the leader of the cell phone market as there are a number of companies competing with one another on the technology platform. You can feel it difficult to pinpoint the one which offers the best cell phone as one company surpasses other in a very short time. It is not possible for the mobile phone manufacturers to capture the entire market as different users have different preferences whenever they are going to buy a phone. Some are going for Android smartphones as they feel this platform is perfect for them, while other buy a BlackBerry phone because of its functionality. Some users are fans of Apple gadgets and therefore they select iPhone.

BlackBerry Vs iPhone:

There is a tough competition between RIM and Apple; both companies are trying to offer the best services, features and functionalities for their customers and also introduce some new features for attracting the new users. If you compare the features and specs of BlackBerry phones and iPhone (e.g. Apple iPhone 4G), you can feel that both brands come with some advantages and shortcomings and it is not possible to make a final note – i.e. which one is the best. Or you can simply choose a phone based on your preferences. Here is a quick comparison from which you can get an idea which one (BlackBerry or Apple) is in a strong position.

  • People like to download different applications on their smartphones so that they can enjoy every moment of their lives. An iPhone user can go to App Store for choosing an application of his choice from the wide collection available in this store. Though a BlackBerry user also has an opportunity to access the BlackBerry App World, yet he has only limited application to choose from when compared with the applications of App Store.
  • The people who love to do the text messaging may prefer BlackBerry over iPhone as it has been often observed that the battery bars of iPhone drop down earlier than the bars of BlackBerry when a person send and receive constant messages.
  • Another thing that leads people toward BlackBerry phones is the Physical QWERTY keyboard which is not available with the iPhone 4. A user of iPhone 4 is able to access the virtual QWERTY keyboard, yet the smoothness and ease offered by physical QWERTY keyboard is much more than that of the virtual one.

BlackBerry Vs Android:

Android platform is very popular among the youngsters as they are able to select a stylish handset from the wide variety of brands – HTC, Motorola, Samsung etc. offering support for this platform. However, there are a number of people who give preference to a BlackBerry phone just because of its sophisticated technology and hardware design. RIM is always introducing some new ways and techniques with the help of which it grabs the attention of users.

  • The most recent improvement which gains the attention of corporate users towards the gadgets of RIM is the BlackBerry Balance that will be incorporated with the latest BlackBerry OS version 7. It is predicted by analyst that by introducing this feature RIM will be able to capture the large market share as compared to Android. The reason is that this new feature will enhance the protection and safety level of corporate data by segregating it from personal information and files.
  • Another thing, which strengthens the position of BlackBerry in the mobile phone market than that of Android devices, is the sophisticated functions integrated with e-mail. A person is able to attach a file with the e-mail in a faster way and such speed may not be achieved when he uses the e-mail facility of Android devices. We heard about the launch of 4G Android Phone from the different manufacturers and also about the release of BlackBerry Triton 4G – the first real 4G phone of RIM. It is possible that the rumors of 4G Triton are not true and RIM will not unveil any such gadget; in this case RIM will surely make a plan, how to compete well with different 4G devices.

What Are The Perspectives of BlackBerry Triton 4G?

A number of companies have introduced 4G mobile phones for the comfort and ease of their customers while others have mapped out some plans for the launch of 4G devices in near future. Samsung Infuse 4G, HTC Inspire 4G, Apple iPhone 4G, etc are the devices which are already announced by their manufacturers while the rumors of BlackBerry Triton – the first 4G smartphone of RIM – and Samsung Exhibit 4G are still circulating across the web.

BlackBerry Triton 4G Smartphone

Although this smartphone has not made official by Research In Motion (RIM) but the news and rumors related to this gadget has increased curiosity. Everyone knows that this company is well-recognized just because of its innovation, so when a person heard about the launch of a 4G device from RIM then it is expected more and more from this gadget. It is certain that RIM will try to fulfill the desire of its customers. BlackBerry 4G technology should surely bring the remarkable features and specs.

Unofficial Features and Specs of BlackBerry Triton 4G

It is not good to keep everything in secret therefore various websites are trying to inform the consumers about the upcoming smartphone and its possible features and thereby stimulating their interest in the gadget. Though all these rumors are not true completely yet by these rumors and news it’s possible to sketch how the upcoming smartphone will look like. The same happens in the case of BlackBerry Triton 4G. Different websites provide the information regarding features, specs and release date of this 4G device day after day and rumors say this device will have the following features:

  • According to many analysts, BlackBerry Triton 4G has the capacity to compete with the Apple iPhone 4 and Android phones as this assumption is based on the features and specs of this gadget. This handset is designed with OLED screen and dual cameras and both features are most demanding nowadays. New generation wants to buy a handset that comes with dual-snapper technology not the one which is equipped with a single camera. The reason is that they want to remain in- touch with their friends and family even when they are on-the-go. So it is possible only when a device has a front facing camera for video chat and a speedy wireless connection – that is surely to come with BlackBerry Triton 4G.
  • Apart from connectivity, another thing is the processor of this upcoming device. Although there is no official information regarding the processor of this smartphone, yet it is expected that it will be powered by dual-core processor that is normally available in many 4G smartphones today. Just due to such a processor, the excellent navigation and processing speed will be assured in BlackBerry Triton 4G.
  • It seems that this device will be available in two models; one will support GSM while another might come with CDMA network support. That means it should be equally compatible with all carriers of the U.S.
  • This smartphone will make it feasible for its users to get ready access to Blackberry App World and thereby enjoy every moment of life in the best possible manner.
  • Integration of BlackBerry 4G technology in BlackBerry Triton means a lot for the users as they are able to surf the web at the fastest speed. Live video streaming through YouTube is there to provide utmost fun and excitement opportunities. A person is able to download movies, wallpapers, audio and video of his choice at lightning speeds.

BlackBerry Operating Systems – features and benefits

One of the main reasons behind the popularity and fame of BlackBerry phones is the operating systems used in these devices. The great features and functionalities, which BlackBerry users enjoy, are due to well-designed operating system of Research In Motion (RIM). The features like instant messaging, games and browsing are very much depend on the type of operating system used in the devices.

The company has launched different operating systems for BlackBerry devices in order to facilitate the new generation in the best possible manner. • Modal pop-ups with gestures are included in BlackBerry OS 6.0 operating system. By means of this pop-up a person can complete a task faster than before.

BlackBerry Operating System version 7:

RIM announced this operating system at the start of this month. Everyone expected that the company would come with OS 6.1 – an update of OS 6.0, but RIM surprised us with the announcement OS v7. According to recent news and information, this new operating system will launch with BlackBerry Bold 9900 and Bold 9930 devices. The bad news is that the devices launched before these two smartphones will not get an update of BlackBerry OS version 7. Furthermore, this version is not available for the smartphones running version 6 of BlackBerry OS.

Features of BlackBerry OS 7:

  • This operating system incorporates BlackBerry Balance; that means a person is able to keep his personal and corporate data separate on the same device.
  • Some improvements are also made in the BlackBerry Browser such as new graphics and Java Script engines. Now a person is able to search the web in the best way and also enjoy smooth panning and zooming.

BLACKBERRY TRITON 4G vs. SAMSUNG INFUSE 4G

The competition in the smartphone market is really heating up. Handset makers are constantly bringing in high end mobile devices with amazing features. Two more devices, the Samsung Infuse 4G and the Blackberry Triton 4G are all set to enter the market. Let us now compare these two phones and see which one emerges winner.

Starting with the display, the Triton is expected to feature a 3.5-4 inch OLED or SLCD display while the Infuse will have a much larger 4.5 inch super AMOLED display. Comparing the processors next, the Blackberry Triton 4G is powered by a 1 GHz processor. On the other hand, the Samsung Infuse 4G is powered by a more powerful 1.2 GHz Hummingbird processor.

The Blackberry smartphone has a 5 megapixel high definition rear camera which is no match for the 8 megapixel high definition rear camera on Samsung’s mobile device. The Infuse also has a better 1.3 megapixel front facing camera in comparison to the Triton which is set to have a front facing VGA camera.

Both devices have similar Bluetooth and Wi-Fi radios, GPS and other multimedia features. Both the Infuse and the Triton will have 4G download speeds and will offer a superior internet experience.

The Infuse wins the Triton hands down when it comes to the display. The Infuse 4G not only has a larger screen but also uses Samsung’s superior super AMOLED technology which offers a brighter, clearer and crisper display. The Infuse also features better front and rear facing cameras. The USP of the Triton is the Blackberry Application World which can be accessed by Blackberry users. With the application world, users can access loads of really cool applications for various purposes. The applications available include Facebook, YouTube etc.

Both phones have a lot to offer its users. The Infuse 4G and the Triton 4G are without doubt two amazing handsets whose arrival the market is definitely looking forward to.

IPhone 4 vs Blackberry Triton 4G

The Apple iPhone 4 is soon set to have another competitor in the market, the Blackberry Triton 4G. iPhone 4 sales which have already been hit by the HTC EVO 4G and the Samsung Epic 4G, might be further jeopardized if the Triton proves to be what it promises. Will the iPhone 4 survive the Blackberry Triton?

The Triton is the first 4G handset from Blackberry and is set to hit markets mid-2011. It is set to feature a 3.5-4 inches long AMOLED or SLCD display. The iPhone4, on the other hand, features a 3.5 inch LCD display. However, despite similar screen dimensions the iPhone 4 is expected to have a better resolution than the Triton. Moving on to the processors, the iPhone 4 uses Apple’s A4 processor while the Triton 4G will be powered by a 1 GHz processor.

The next interesting comparison is that of the dimensions and looks of both devices. Though the exact dimensions of Blackberry’s 4G device is not known, it is expected to have measurements similar to the Blackberry Storm. While the iPhone 4 measures a 0.3 inches in thickness and 4.8 ounces in weight, it remains to be seen how much the sleek and classy Triton will weigh.

Comparing the cameras in both devices, both handsets feature 5 megapixel cameras capable of High Definition recording. They also feature similar front facing cameras for video conferencing. Moving on to the feature where the iPhone 4 stands no chance against the Triton – speed. As the Triton is a 4G device it will offer up to 8 times the Internet speed and download rate as the iPhone 4. Being a 4G device, the Triton will also offer superior multimedia access and gaming services to users.

Thus, the Triton wins the war comprehensively because of its superior cellular network standards. However, the iPhone 4 also has a lot to offer with its sleek design and superior display.

SAMSUNG EPIC 4G vs. BLACKBERRY TRITON 4G

The newly released Samsung Epic 4G will soon face competition from the upcoming Triton 4G from Blackberry. The Triton will be the first 4G handset from Blackberry and is set to debut towards the end of the year. Here is a comparative analysis of the two phones to see which one is the better handset.

Processor. The Samsung Epic 4G features a 1GHz Hummingbird processor while the Blackberry Triton 4G is expected to be powered by an equally powerful 1 GHz processor. So, there is not much to differentiate between the phones in terms of their processors.

Display. Comparing their displays, the Epic features a 4-inch AMOLED display. The Triton, on the other hand, will feature either an AMOLED or an SLCD display. The screen size in the Triton is not yet known but it is rumored to measure between 3.5-4 inches.

Camera. The Epic and the Triton come with a 5-megapixel camera which is capable of recording in High Definition. They both have front facing cameras for video conferencing. Coming to the touch technology in the handsets, the Triton features Multi Touch navigation while the Epic features Samsung’s Swype technology.

Other features. The major plus pint with the Blackberry Triton 4G is the Blackberry Application World. Triton users can gain access to hundreds of really cool applications in various genres. The applications you can access include Facebook and Youtube amongst others. In the case of Samsung’s 4G handset, users can access Samsung Media Hub through which they can purchase or rent movies and TV shows. However, Blackberry’s App World can sound better than Samsung’s Media Hub.

So, if you are just looking for a handset which is really good on its own, the Samsung Epic 4G is the perfect phone for you. But if you are the person who loves to customize the phone with some cool applications, the Triton 4G will be the phone that can suit your needs.

HTC EVO 4G vs. BLACKBERRY TRITON 4G

HTC Evo 4G, the 4G handset to hit global markets, is soon set to face competition from Blackberry 4G handsets. The HTC Evo 4G which was released in early June 2010 has done excellent business so far and will soon compete with the Blackberry Triton 4G which might hit shelves towards the end of 2012. Let us compare the specs of the two mobile phones.

Processor. The HTC Evo is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor. The Triton might be equally powerful equipped with a similar 1GHz processor.

Display. The first major difference between the two phones is the display. While the Evo comes with a really large 4.3 inch touch screen, the Triton might feature a much smaller 3.5-4 inch touch screen. But as a competition from Samsung 4G phones is constantly increasing, the features of the rumoured BlackBerry Triton might change.

Camera. Moving on to the next feature which is a camera, the Evo beats the Triton yet again, and comfortably too. The Triton carries a 5-megapixel camera compared to the 8-megapixel camera on the HTC. Though both cameras are capable of recording in High Definition, the camera on the HTC Evo provides better quality and clarity.

Other features. The only major advantage the Blackberry device has to offer is the Blackberry App World feature. The Triton 4G is expected to have an exclusive application store from where you can download such applications as YouTube and Facebook. This feature entitles you to customize the phone with applications of your choice. The Triton should also feature a Multi Touch Navigation which should be another major highlight of the phone.

Both phones come with the standard Bluetooth and Wi-Fi radios and also feature a front-facing camera for video calling.

The Evo looks like a better phone. But Blackberry can sure spring a few surprises with the Triton. We will have to wait till December 2012 when the real BlackBerry Triton 4G phone might come.
